BRAKES

Your brakes are the most important safety component on your car next to the tires! For safety sake, pay attention to your brakes! See, hear, feel!

Symptoms indicating your brakes may need service:

See: Warning light illuminated on dash (indicating brakes)
Hear: Grinding or Squealing
Feel: Loss of brake pedal (pedal goes further to the floor than normal or feels spongy) or pulsating brake pedal (feel bake shaking with foot applied to pedal)

S&S Tire’s certified brake specialist will:

Inspect hardware and components.
If needed, replace worn brake pads or shoes with new, high quality replacements.
Resurface or replace rotors if needed.

ALIGNMENT

Just as alignment is key to the perfect swing, it is key to your ensure that your vehicle handles correctly and will help increase the life and performance of your tires. Potholes, bumps and accidents can knock your vehicle out of alignment.

Symptoms indicating your vehicle’s alignment may need service:

You’ve hit something
Vehicle pulls to one side or the other
Uneven, unusual or premature tire wear such as a wear pattern on the shoulder of the tire.
Steering wheel is off-center.

S&S Tire offers both STANDARD and 4-WHEEL computerized alignment and will:

Inspect and if needed, adjust all settings (camber, caster, and toe).
4-Wheel: adjust rear alignment to straight and then adjust front alignment in sync with rear alignment.
Inspect front-end parts and components for wear. If needed, install new, high quality replacements.
Inspect and if needed, adjust steering wheel.

SHOCKS & STRUTS (recommended replacement – every 50,000 miles)

Driving with worn out shocks and struts can be as dangerous as bald tires and faulty brakes. Shocks and struts help to hold the tire to the road and make your ride smoother. A good rule of thumb is to have your shocks and struts checked once a year and definitely after 50,000 miles.

Symptoms your shocks and struts may need service:

Excessive bounce when stopping vehicle.
Unusual noises from shocks and struts (clunking or squeaking when vehicle is moving).
Steering wheel vibrates.
Unusual tire wear.

S&S Tire will:

Inspect shocks and struts for wear.
Remove worn shocks and/or struts and install new, high quality replacements, if needed.

BELTS & HOSES

Belts and hoses have the shortest lifespan of components on your vehicle. Constant exposure to heat, vibration, and harmful chemicals, can cause cracks and leaks.

Symptoms your belts and hoses may need service:

Belts become brittle, cracked or worn.
Hose becomes dry-rotted, brittle, cracked or split.
Loss of fluids, noticeable fluids leaking from under vehicle, steam rising from engine.
Squealing (from engine) when starting vehicle.

S&S Tire will:

Inspect all belts and hoses.
Install new, high quality belts and/or hoses, if needed.
Check and fill all fluids.

BATTERY (average battery life is 3-5 years)

Don’t end up in the Dead Zone, dead battery zone that is! Car batteries provide little or no warning signs before they suddenly fail. If your battery at least 3 years old, or you drive in cold temperatures, have your battery checked.

Symptoms your battery may need replacement:

Vehicle doesn’t start.
Interior lights do not come on.

Test the battery
Install a new, high quality replacement, if needed

FUEL INJECTION CLEANING (recommended – every 25,000 miles)

Every day dirt and carbon deposits form in your vehicle’s fuel system, on the intake valves and in the combustion areas. These build-ups can rob your car of performance.

Symptoms your vehicle may need a fuel injection cleaning:

Stalling, sputtering, dieseling.
Engine pinging.
Rough idle and poor performance.
Decreased gas mileage

S&S Tire will:

Inject top quality fuel injection cleaner (cleaning agent) to release and remove deposits and/or debris that accumulates with normal vehicle use.

TRANSMISSION (recommended replacement – every 30,000 miles)

The automatic transmission in your car pumps fluid to transfer engine torque to the drive wheels by controlling fluid flow and pressure. Routine maintenance is the best way to prevent costly transmission failure.

Symptoms your transmission may need service:

Transmission slipping between gears (rough shifting).
Loss of power.
Unusual noises when accelerating .

S&S Tire will:

Inspect transmission for wear.
Check transmission fluid level.
Replace transmission fluid and filter, if needed.

DIAGNOSTICS (anything engine/performance related)

Today’s vehicles have brains, that is on-board computer technology. The use of this technology is also needed in the diagnosis of your vehicle’s performance. When your “Check Engine” light comes on, or your vehicle is not running properly, S&S Tire uses computer diagnostics are to determine what part is malfunctioning.

Symptoms your vehicle may need diagnostic attention:

Indicator (warning) light(s) on dashboard is illuminated.
Unusual noises or driving conditions.

S&S Tire will:

Pinpoint issues and diagnosis with state-of-the art diagnostic equipment.
Repair and/or replace any engine components, if needed.

EXHAUST

An exhaust system conveys burnt gases from away from the engine and the car’s occupants and out into the atmosphere. The exhaust system also reduces the amount of noise made.

Symptoms your exhaust system may need service:

Vehicle runs louder than normal.
You can smell exhaust fumes.

S&S Tire will:

Inspect the complete exhaust system.
Repair or replace any components, if needed.

COOLANT / ANTIFREEZE SYSTEMS (recommend replacing fluids every 30,000 miles)

You vehicle’s radiator builds deposits that can clog the cooling system. Actually the heating system works off of the same coolant that circulates throughout your engine. A coolant flush and fill will also prevent overheating—the most common cause of breakdowns and internal engine damage. It’s important to change your antifreeze seasonally.

Symptoms your coolant/antifreeze system may need service:

Fluid loss or leakage.
Steam coming from motor.
Indicator (warning) light(s) on dashboard is illuminated.
Temperature light/gauge indicates vehicle is running hotter than usual.

Fully inspect the coolant/antifreeze system
Repair and/or replace any components, if needed
Replace old coolant/antifreeze with new fluid

OIL, LUBE & FILTER (recommend changing – every 3000 miles)

Changing your oil according to your vehicle manufacturer’s recommendation is the most important and cost-effective maintenance to keep your vehicle running smoothly, efficiently, and may help you avoid costly repairs down the road. S&S Tire features the Valvoline family of products.

Symptoms your vehicle needs an oil change:

Engine may shut down (in extreme situations)

S&S Tire will:

Remove old oil.
Replace old oil filter.
Lubricate fittings where applicable.
Replace oil with a high quality product.

TIRE REPAIR:

While you may not be able to prevent a flat tire, you can help minimize the hassle and damage to your tire by being aware. Stop as soon as possible as driving on your flat can destroy the tire and damage your wheels.

Symptoms your vehicle’s tire(s) many need repair:

Noticeable loss of air pressure in tire(s)
Foreign object in tire(s)
Air escaping from tire(s)
